Süleyman SOYLU
Suleyman SOYLU was born in Istanbul
in 1969. After graduating from
Plevne High School, he attended and
obtained Bachelors degree from
Istanbul University, Faculty of
Business Administration.
Suleyman SOYLU has started his
political career in DYP Youth
Organization in Istanbul. As a part
of a family from DP origin, Suleyman
SOYLU served as a board member and
director in DYP Youth Organization
in Istanbul. In 1995 he was elected
as a member of DYP board of
directors in Gaziosmanpasa, Istanbul.

As a result of continuing requests from
public and representatives, he ran campaign for
DYP presidency for Gaziosmanpasa district. After
the elections, he became the youngest
district president in Turkey at the age of 25.
With increasing public support, he served as a
district president and campaigned for
Gaziosmanpasa mayor from DYP.
He was elected as the DYP president of Istanbul
in 1999 after his successes in local politics
and growing public support. He served as the
president for 3.5 years and resigned in 2002 to
campaign for senate representative elections.
Suleyman SOYLU is elected as the chairman of
DYP in 4th congress of DP, obtaining a large
majority of the votes from party representatives.
